Open Candeias is a very important event for Grupo Candeias. This event is organized by Mestre Suino (the president of Grupo Candeias) in the city of Goiania, Brazil every two years. The majority of the members of Grupo Candeias is generally represented at this event. It is a big responsibility and an honor to host this event. Contramestre Fenix and Professor Fabricio have dreamed about hosting this event since they moved to the USA. The time has come and they are very excited to announce that the event will be hosted for the first time in the USA. Open Candeias will be hosting workshops and a Capoeira Competition (Mundial Candeias) which is open to all capoeiristas from all groups.
